Lots of Delays...but we made it!

 

Well, to say our trip was eventful, is an understatement! One blog post is not enough to recall all of our adventures, but I will do my best. Our first delay was an airplane with a clogged toilet in Seattle, WA. We waited hours off and on the airplane until it was finally fixed. This delay made it impossible for us to make our connecting flight out of Houston, TX. We landed in Houston very late in the evening, waited for our hotel vouchers and then finally found a very generous taxi driver who agreed to take ALL of us to a hotel. (our group was rather large for one taxi) The picture above was taken after checking out of our hotel the next day. We navigated our way to the nearest Cracker Barrel by foot. All of us just wanted real food...we didn't mind having this delay. Thanks to Tory for this game of checkers!

We spent lots of time in the airport waiting for our overnight flight...playing games.

God was SO FAITHFUL in providing people to help us each step of the way. After an overnight flight we landed in south Brazil and went through customs. Our 24hr window for our covid tests was long gone at this point and we were just praying that God would help us get through despite that. Tory was the only one stopped and we all were in a huddle praying when she came through the sliding doors. Hallelujah!!!

We realized very quickly we had no idea how to navigate the airport and none of the signs were helpful. As we were trying to find someone to ask, God sent another helper our way! He guided us through rechecking our bags and even helped us skip a very long line. Thank you LORD! There was no way we would have made our connecting flight otherwise. 

A very tired crew, but so thankful to have landed in BRAZIL!!!
